A mass shooting at the Robb Elementary School occurred on May 24, 2022, Tuesday, in Uvalde, Texas, United States. Nineteen students and two teachers were killed by a 18 year old boy named Salvador Ramos. It is discovered that the suspect shot his grandmother, who was hospitalized in critical condition. Fleeing the shooting of his grandmother, he crashed his car near Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, then managed to dodge a school police officer who approached him before running inside. Then he went to the campus and opened fire. The lieutenant said that he started shooting every single person that was in front of him. He was later shot and killed on the scene by a U.S. Border Patrol agent.
One among the deadliest school shootings in America:
There was no clear motive found behind the shooting. It is considered to be the third deadliest American school shooting, after Virginia Tech shooting in 2007 and Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting in 2012.

Criticism for delay in action by police:

The police gathered outside the school but did not enter the building for 40 minutes to an hour, where the gunman opened fire on students and teachers. People there criticised the police for delay in action. One of the grief-stricken father said that this incident could have been controlled in a couple of minutes.

Development:

By Wednesday, all of the victims were identified by officials. In Uvalde, a city of about 16,000 residents, the tragedy did not seem to spare even a single family.
President Biden said he would visit the city, 60 miles from the border with Mexico, in the coming days to console the shattered residents.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are aided by local police in the investigation. Ramos’s guns and magazines were recovered by law enforcement and are being analysed.
