Police explained the reasons for increased bike accidents in UAE

Bike accidents have increased during the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, UAE Police explained the reasons for increased bike accidents in UAE. Though, delivery riders were mainly at risk of these accidents.

Both e-commerce and delivery businesses took a hipe during the Covid-19 pandemic. Simultaneously, the number of bike accidents also increased in the state.

Authorities are concerned

The UAE authority is concerned about the increased death rates of delivery riders. The top official of the Dubai police department gave his statement about all this. He said that most of the riders working in the food delivery industry are from Asian and African countries. Therefore, they do not have the appropriate knowledge of the traffic and safety rule of the UAE.

The residents were staying in their houses during the lockdown. Therefore, there was a sharp spike in ordering food and other stuff online. 

Initiatives of police officials

Police explained the reasons for increased bike accidents in UAE. Various penalties and fines are also set to overcome this problem. Still, motorcyclists failed to adhere to the lane and disobeyed other rules.

The Traffic and Patrols Department director stressed the need for awareness delivery riders about the traffic rules. According to him, their department also initiated several awareness campaigns for bike riders. These campaigns aim to create awareness regarding traffic safety.

RTA

Authorities are taking various steps to save the lives of bike riders and others. Dubai’s RTA has issued rules that are based on international standards. These regulations have been made to protect bike riders and delivery riders from accidents.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority have also started education courses for the delivery riders. The delivery companies must enrol their riders and other employees in these courses. These education courses will make aware the delivery riders of the various traffic laws and maps of Dubai.

The UAE’s Etihad Rail has revealed the first renderings of its new passenger trains. The images are exclusively published by The National. Show silver and grey carriages adorned with the red Etihad Rail logo, against a backdrop of Arabian mountain ranges and deserts.

They are the first glimpse of the sleek and modern interiors of the trains. From Al Sila in the west to Fujairah in the north, the trains will run at a maximum speed of 200kph, will be able to carry 400 passengers, and will link 11 cities across the UAE.

Etihad Rail says its stations will celebrate travel and reflect regional cultures.
