Mohamed Ramadan Mahmoud Hijazi is an Egyptian actor, singer, rapper, dancer, and producer. A man with many talents, he has a prosperous acting career in films and television series. Recently, he became a famous and very prominent Egyptian pan-Arab singer. Ramadan started from the bottom and overcame various hurdles to reach the place he’s at today.
His early days
In school, Ramadan imitated his teachers and one of them directed him to pursue his talent on the school stage. After discovering his natural gift for acting, Ramadan loved performing on stage. He received the award for Best Young Talent at his school twice in a row, a first in his school’s history. During his second year of high school, he began “the journey of pursuit.” He sought out various acting tests where the cameraman would call out his name and photograph him. But, he insisted on acting out a small role instead. He knew that no one can judge good talents based on looks without seeing an actual performance.
After high school, Ramadan applied to the Higher Institute for Acting and was rejected. But, he never lost his faith in himself or his dream of becoming a professional actor. He got his break when the late Sa’eed Saleh, the famous comedian, recognized his talent and asked him to take part in his play. The play paved the way for various opportunities for Ramadan.
Career in acting
After the play, the offers for roles began coming his way. Mohamed Ramadan wasted no time, accepting and putting his heart in every one of the roles he played. He was asked by established actress Hanan Turk to join her in the television series “Awlad El Shawarea” (Street Children). Simultaneously, Dr. Samir Seif cast him in the TV series, “Cinderella,” starring the respected actress Mona Zaki, where he played the role of Egypt’s iconic, late actor, Ahmad Zaki. This was followed by a role with the internationally acclaimed legend, Omar Sharif in the TV series,“Hanan & Hanin” and another role with superstar, Yousra, in the series “Ayadi Ameena” (Safe Hands).
His hard work and dedication eventually led him to the big screen. The director Yousry Nasrallah picked him for “Ehky Ya Shahrazad” once again opposite Mona Zaki. He also worked with many of his role models and still looks forward to working with more. Recently, Ramadan shocked the public in the highly successful 2016 Ramadan TV series ‘El Ostoora’. He took on two very complex leading roles and nailed them perfectly.
His endeavours in music
Ramadan’s songs have a huge following throughout the Arab World and are instant hits. He famously collaborated with French singer and rapper Gims in the song “Ya Habibi”. He is also known for his expensive music videos for his songs and his collaborations. Ramadan is also very popular on TikTok promotions and following.
When not working, Mohamed Ramadan leads an average life. He is a man of faith and spends his time with his wife and two kids. He also likes to spend time exercising. According to Ramadan, the key to his success lies in his unfailing belief in himself. Even when doors were shut in the face of his talent, he believed in fighting for his dream.
