More than 40 cases which are serious detected by Dubai Police using High-tech technology. Last year number was 54.
Dubai Police using high-tech technology like data analysis and surveillance to stop crime in the densely populated Naif area of Deira.
In the first half of 2021, Naif Police Station dealt with 40+ serious cases, including drug crimes, robberies, assault and killing. A nineteen per cent decrease is seen from the 54 cases reported during the same period in 2020.
“Programmes like intelligent data analysis, enhanced surveillance, quick response times, and providing specific patrols aided bring the number of serious crimes down,” said Brig Tariq Tehlak, the Naif Police Station director.
“Increasing awareness among all members of the area is successful and giving good result in reducing crimes.”
Police are on guard around the clock in different areas, particularly tourist attractions and supermarkets.
Dubai Police urge the public to report any suspicious conduct by calling on 901 or 999.

Data analysis assists police to fully explain crime patterns. It give precise estimates of past crimes and know the kinds of prisoners they should monitor.
Research done by the force’s Criminal Data Analysis Centre is use to predict criminals’ behaviour and raise public awareness.
Most criminals operate in pairs or small groups of three and choose elder people as targets.
The research found that CRIMINALS use three main methods:
1. Spitting or sprinkling a liquid on victims and blocking their way.
2. In the name of offering help.
3. Evading people’s pockets to steal items such as phones and wallets with money.
Dubai’s bustling Naif area is most affected in Dubai. Crime ratio, although has come down compared to last year. New technology used by Dubai police is working for them and citizens safety.
