Indian Railways are likely to incur a huge loss of Rs 30 to 35 thousand crore in revenue from passenger trains due to the lockdown in the coronary period. Railways will get 10 to 15 percent of revenue from passengers this year compared to last year. Railway Board Chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav has given this information.
It is worth noting that at present, the Railways are running only 230 special trains, out of which only 75 percent people are traveling against the total seats. Vinod Yadav said, “We do not know what kind of situation will be ahead of the corona. Railways aims to increase freight traffic by 50 percent in the year 2020. For this, infrastructure will be further developed and policies will be rationalized. ”Railways recently said that the job profile of some of its employees could be changed, but Railways insisted that no layoffs Will.
It is worth noting that recently, the Railways issued a letter asking all its general managers to cut their vacancy by 50 percent and stop creating new posts. On this, the Director General (HR) of the Railway Board clarified that the railway is only giving the ‘right shape’ to the size of the employees and it is not being cut. He said that due to various technological developments in the railways, some job profiles can be changed, many employees will be given training in new types of skills, but there will be no layoffs.
