Stock market down: Sensex breaks 740 points below 48500, Nifty falls

Today, the fourth trading day of the week i.e. Thursday, the stock market has declined day by day. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex fell 740.19 points, or 1.51 per cent, to close at 48440.12. At the same time, the Nifty on the National Stock Exchange closed at 14324.90, down 224.50 points or 1.54 percent. The BSE 30-share index fell 933.84 points, or 1.83 percent, in the previous week.

The Sensex closed at its lowest level of the week today. It reached 22 March 49771, 23 March 50051, 24 March 49180 and today it reached 48440.

The same was true of older stocks

Speaking of large stocks, shares of Tata Steel, Doc Reddy, ICICI Bank, HDFC, and L&T closed in the green today. Shares of IOC, Maruti, Coal India, Bharti Airtel and Hindustan Unilever closed in the red.

Sectoral indicator tracking

If we look at the sectoral indicator, today all sectors except metals are closed in red. These include FMCG, Media, IT, Realty, Auto, PSU Bank, Pharma, Finance Services, Private Banks and Banks.

Global market fluctuations

Speaking of global markets, the Nasdaq index fell 265 points, or 2 percent, to 12,961. The Dow Jones index fell three points to 32,420. The S&P 500 index also fell 21 points to 3,889. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index slipped 52 points to 27,866. China’s Shanghai Composite Flat is trading at 3,366. Japan’s Nikkei index rose 210 points to 28,616. Korea’s Kospi index and all of Australia’s ordinances also have slight gains.

Corona has raised concerns among investors

Investors are concerned by the growing coronavirus epidemic data in the country. Corona cases are increasing rapidly in Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat. These companies account for 77.44 percent of new infections. Amid growing cases of coronavirus, several states have begun taking drastic measures. More than 53,476 people have been infected and 251 have died in the last 24 hours due to coronary heart disease in the country.

The market was open in red

The Sensex fell 57.07 points, or 0.12 percent, to 49,123.24. The Nifty opened 30.85 points or 0.21 percent lower at 14,518.55. In early trading today, 518 shares rose, 1,060 shares fell. At the same time, 65 shares remained unchanged. After that, the market continued to decline throughout the day.

The stock market closed with a decline on Wednesday

The Sensex-Nifty closed at the red mark on Wednesday. The Sensex fell 871.13 points, or 1.74 percent, to 49,180.31. The Nifty closed 265.35 points or 1.79 percent lower at 14549.40.
