On Monday, there was a break in the continued fall in gold prices. However, the price has not increased much. On Monday, the gold price at MSX stood at Rs 44,756 per 10 grams on a marginal basis.
Silver opened at Rs 66,455 per kg on Monday at MSX. Chandi closed at Rs 65,603 per kg on Friday.
The spot price of gold in the spot market has come down from its record high of Rs 13121. In August 2020, the spot price of gold in the Delhi Bullet market reached above Rs 57008 per 10 grams.
Surendra Mehta, national secretary of the India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), said the biggest reason for the fall in gold prices was the strengthening of the dollar against other major currencies. The US dollar index has strengthened against major currencies.
