The Sensex slipped 598 points on weak global cues, while the Nifty fell

Domestic markets were under pressure today due to heavy sales in global stock markets. The stock market closed with a heavy fall on Thursday, the fourth trading day of the week. The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex closed at 50846.08, down 598.57 points or 1.16 per cent. At the same time, the Nifty on the National Stock Exchange closed at 15080.75, down 164.85 points or 1.08 percent. Earlier, the Sensex had gained 2,444.66 points, or 4.77 per cent, and the Nifty had gained 16,116.45 points, or 4.93 per cent, in the last three sessions.

Heavy sales in stock markets around the world

On Wednesday, the Nasdaq index fell 2.70 percent to close at 12,997. The Dow Jones and S&P 500 indices fell 1.39 percent. Japan’s Nikkei index traded down 517 points at 29,042. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index traded down 816 points at 29,064. China’s Shanghai Composite, Korea’s Kospi and Australia’s All Ordinary Index fell 1.74 percent.

In nine months, FDI has increased by 22 percent

According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, FDI inflows from April to December 2020 stood at ৫ 6.54 billion. FDI inflows were recorded 22 percent higher than this month of the previous year. In the first nine months of 2010-2011, FDI equity inflows rose 40 percent to $ 51.47 billion. At the same time last year, the figure was 7 3.7777 billion.

The same was true of older stocks

Speaking of large stocks, shares of Ultratech Cement, Adani Ports, Shree Cement, Dr Reddy and Grasim closed at the green mark today. JSW Steel, HDFC, Hindalco, Tata Steel, and Tata Motors closed in the red.

Sectoral indicator tracking

If we look at the sectoral index, today, excluding the media and real, all sectors have closed above the red mark. These include PSU Bank, Finance Services, FMCG, IT, Bank, Pharma, Auto, Private Bank and Metal.

In early trade, the Sensex was down 744.85 points (1.45 per cent) at 50,699.80 and the Nifty was down 218.85 points or 1.44 per cent at 15,026.75.

The market was closed on Wednesday due to growth

On Wednesday, the stock market was closed on the edge. The Sensex came in at 11447..76 points or 2.27 percent, 51444..65. At the same time, the Nifty rose 326.50 points or 2.19 percent to close at 15245.60.
